The Skin Food that your face wants and needs!

Since I started Colette Prime in Fall 2017, I made a lot of improvements on how I take care of myself. One of the reasons I started this was because I was sick and tired of being sick and tired and I was going all in on ME. In order to be the best ME, I had to elevate and evolve. That meant a lot of changes to my social calendar, my love life, and my overall well being. It also meant a lot of work, but why the hell not work on yourself? My mission was to help women and empower them, and I knew that I couldn’t do that if I wasn’t taking care of my INNER self like it was a full time job. When you focus and work on the inner self, the outer self improves RADICALLY. Of course there are ways to get around that and spend tons of money on beauty products and invasive procedures, but that only fixes the outside. Eventually your inside will catch up with you and it will show. The inside is what truly matters and if you can work on that as much as you work on the outside, you will be Beyonce in no time. What do I mean when I say the inside? I mean a couple different things. I mean simple things like getting real sleep, eating food that looks like food, and avoiding the long party weekends.  And then the not so simple things, like working on your mental health. I do think it’s much easier to work on your mental health if you cut out the food that’s garbage and you drink way less. Also, working on the inside means hanging out ALONE a lot and learning about your needs! This does take time and patience, I just want you to know that your heart and head matters more than any product out there 🙂

SO, about the darn skin products! I’ve tried a decent amount of products on my skin as it used to be very congested and dull. A friend who is a facial PRO said to me that I needed to start getting facials so I could find out from a professional what the heck was going on with my skin. I googled the best faical in San Francisco, and found Lisa Eddy. Upon reading her reviews, I knew this was my GIRL. She takes a holistic approach to your skin and when I saw her site I could tell she was really passionate about healing women. I’d gotten facials before, but I knew I didn’t like the ones where they just picked and probed at my skin and it hurt. You should be very picky about who touches that beautiful face of yours. But back to Lisa,  I mentioned she is holistic which means she is against all invasive procedures like botox and fillers. Her site reads : “It’s time for whole body wellness. What do your skin and body need? Lisa Eddy will figure it out. Working on three levels of heating, Lisa bring a wealth of science-backed and ancient healing knowledge to her clients for the ultimate sacred beauty service.” I love the idea of healing skin based on science and ancient treatments! So much better than just picking and squeezing out the gross stuff. Also, her site reads: “Beauty is an inside job. I believe true beauty is sacred. First and foremost, true beauty comes from how we love and care for ourselves.” That could not be a more beautiful message to women. I needed to hear that at the time and I still need to hear it. I also was hearing a lot about “early” botox at this time and how to prevent this and that and it honestly scared the heck out me. Lisa is ANTI botox, and it was refreshing as she has a 9 year old and has really LIVED life. I am explaining this so you can get an idea of the type of person she is as it does matter to know who is making your beauty products. You need to be sure they have a good reputation, and if they are a GOOD person. Lisa is a GREAT person. We are one year into this relationship of ours hehe.

I still stand my statement that the inside matters way more in terms of beauty, BUT these two products have transformed my skin in combination with how I eat and drink. If you’ve followed me since the beginning, you know what I’m talking about, girlfriend. So, there are three products that I want to talk about. Two are for you and one is for your mom, aunt, gramma, or someone older in your life. It has ten times more moisture than the one for you as it’s formulated for old skin. My code to get 20% off for these products is colette20 when you checkout. It works for all of these products.

OMG Facial Oil

The first one for YOU, is the OMG Oh Mega Goodness Facial Oil. It’s HEAVEN in a dropper. The moment that dropper releases a drop on your skin, you will feel like it is healing. It contains a special oil that Lisa has been using for years, called the Sacha Inchi oil from the Sacha Inchi Nut. This oil is what makes your face scream O.M.G. because that Peruvian Rain Forest, where the oil originated, is a source of healing and nurturing for thousands of organisms. And I am ecstatic to be one of those organisms. SO, what is in this oil? Well, it has the highest content of Omega 3, 6, and 9 on earth. It contains 15 TIMES the Omega 3 of an equivalent amount of salmon. The 3 Omega’s are called the Essential Fatty Acids, EFA’s, and Sachi Inchi Oil has all 3! Basically, these EFA’s work together in this oil to repair cell membranes and fight harmful byproducts. Other ingredients in the OMG oil,  are sunflower oil, coconut oil, tocopherol Vitamin E, and bio active silver oxide. I would go into it further, but Lisa explains all of this wonderfully on her site. How to use OMG oil? I prefer to put it on every morning after I was my face and after a shower. You can’t put too much on in my experience, but you should use it regularly if you want that glow you see in my recent photos. If you aren’t an oil lady, you can drop it in your current moisturizer too! The combination is just as good, so don’t feel like you have to drop it directly on your face. I certainly do drop it right on.

UNICORN.jpg

You might be wondering why there is a giant image of a unicorn? WELL, because the second product for you, is what I refer to as the ” a unicorn licked my face” product. This is a cream by the very accurate name of Lisa Eddy Nourish Skin FoodYes, it really is skin food and your skin loves it like a fat kid loves cake!  (Excuse that awful word, but I read that on a card once and I thought the imagery of it was hilarious. ) The cream contains organic shea butter, organic sunflower oil, organic coconut oil, organic apricot oil, and vitamin e concentrate. The consistency is super silky and I put it on at night as a mask and also apply to my lips. It tastes good too! I wouldn’t say to put it on your lips if it tasted bad. It takes like coconut. You can honestly apply it however you want and sometimes I wear it during the day too. Since it’s almost winter, I would say you could wear it day and night because the air really dries out our skin this time of year. Mix it with your moisturizer if you want to dilute it some, and voila! If you do wear it at night, apply it LAST. When you wake up, you will see what I mean when I say it looks like a unicorn licked your face for ten minutes. Enjoy that glow girl!

Now, the third product is for your mom, aunt, or an older woman in your life. It is called the Lisa Eddy Restore Skin food.I purchased for my mom and it is does exactly what it claims. It rejuvenates the skin. On Lisa’s site it says, “There is a huge array of oils used in this cream as using several different oils work synergistically to restore your skin like no one ingredient can perform alone. Absolutely NO chemicals or toxins are used. Your skin will look smoother & more radiant with this pure, alive, formula from Mother Nature.” I thought I would include this too as it is holiday season and it is a nice gift! Instead of the Nourish cream look of a unicorn licking your face, this gives the look of a FLYING unicorn licking your face.
