Out of all the fashion designers, Alexander McQueen is the one I feel like I relate to the most. Sadly, he is no longer alive. I encourage you to watch his documentary and fashion shows if you are a fashion lover like myself. Alexander McQueen was someone who could make anyone laugh and feel comfortable. Especially in his early years as a designer, he was like the king of “anti fashion” fashion. He didn’t put on a runway show like any designer before him and he kind of said a big “F**k You” to the Paris fashion world through his collections. I love that. A rebel with a cause! He proved that fashion is much more than clothes. Fashion can tell a story and be the voice of an outcast. Fashion can remark on historical events and portray them in a very deep and visceral way. Fashion can change the way people think! He turned his models into goddesses and queens and powerful creatures. Watching his shows, you feel as if you just traveled to a different dimension. He was a true artist. Please do watch this video of his Savage Beauty runway show where two robots spray paint a beautiful model turned ballerina.
My inspiration for the snake print blazer was an outfit I saw on McQueen’s runway. I’m wearing a medium in the snake blazer, a small in the mock neck, a small in the jeans, and the boots are TTS. The jeans are TTS and make sure to get the light wash jeans as there are two options. The dark wash jeans are labeled as “X size 1.”
